At the end of the war, Saint John's economy suffered and in 1927 the city sold its harbour facilities to the federal government.

click here to enlarge photo of today's Imperial Theatre The construction of the «Imperial Theatre» was finally complete and the building was sold to the Famous Players Corporation of Canada and renamed the Capitol Theatre.
