Still the 'Woolworth Building' to us...

The current structure was built in the 1950's by the F. W. Woolworth Co. Ltd.. Before this there were buildings owned by FE Daniel and Dykeman. The building was used as a department store and office space. It is a modern brick and stone structure and has added a a lot to the general appearance of this part of the city. With white stone and buff brick, three storeys and five entrances, it was a very modern structure for 1950.





Woolworths... 1962Woolworth resided in the building for more than thirty years. Since then there have been a few other residents and it is currently partially occupied by a bargain discount chain store.
