Here is an excerpt from the first issue (Vol. 1, No. 1, Winter 1974) of the
quarterly Bricklin Employee News:
If we had to only pour in a few ideas, sprinkle in some people and mix well with money to produce the first new American car in 28 years -- the Bricklin SV1 !!!!!! But......... it took three years of creative and hard work on the part of committed and determined people.
As the idea for the Bricklin developed into a reality, the company also grew from a handful of people, working around the clock and wherever they found the space, to today, when we have over 600 employees in offices scattered in the United States and Canada.
In order to allow employees in Saint John, Minto, Detroit, Scottsdale and Whippany to benefit from what other offices are doing, and who in those offices do it, we are initiating a Bricklin Employee Newspaper.
The purpose is communication . . . . The Bricklin has won the attention of the public. We have a product, one with which we can not only be proud and excited, but one which opens opportunities for creativity and purpose. We are the one now making a substantial change in the automotive world. It is the commitment of those who wanted to see a new car with the innovative features of the Bricklin succeed that has allowed the car to be introduced. It is now up to all of us working for Bricklin to ensure that success.
Our paper can help communicate these ideas between offices.
